Government Rooftop Solar Scheme
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana is a Government of India scheme created to encourage eligible residential households to install grid-connected rooftop solar systems. Consumers apply through the official National Portal and select a registered vendor for installation.
The scheme provides Central Financial Assistance for eligible residential rooftop solar systems. The actual electricity generation and bill savings depend on system capacity, sunlight, roof conditions, consumption pattern, state regulations and DISCOM procedures.
Subsidy is subject to eligibility, portal approval, installation requirements, DISCOM inspection and prevailing government guidelines. AR Solar Solution does not independently approve or issue the subsidy.

Indicative PM Surya Ghar Subsidy
The currently published central subsidy is capped at a residential rooftop solar capacity of 3 kW.

Who Can Apply for the Scheme?
Indian Residential Consumer
The applicant should be an Indian citizen applying for a residential electricity connection.
Suitable Residential Rooftop
The household should have a roof suitable for installing the proposed solar system.
Valid Electricity Connection
The applicant should have an active electricity connection with the local DISCOM.
No Previous Solar Subsidy
The household should not have already received another subsidy for the same rooftop solar installation.

Subsidy Application Process
How to Apply for PM Surya Ghar Subsidy
The process is completed through the National Portal in coordination with the registered vendor and local DISCOM.
Register on the Portal
Visit the official portal and register using your state, DISCOM, electricity consumer number and contact information.
Submit Rooftop Application
Complete the rooftop solar application and provide the required consumer and property information.
Complete Required Checks
Wait for portal or DISCOM checks and approvals wherever applicable under the current procedure.
Select Registered Vendor
Choose a vendor registered on the portal and finalize the suitable capacity, components and installation scope.
Install the Solar System
Get the rooftop solar system installed according to applicable technical and safety requirements.
Apply for Net Meter
Upload plant details and submit the request for net-meter installation and DISCOM inspection.
Obtain Commissioning Report
After inspection and successful commissioning, obtain the commissioning certificate through the portal.
Submit Bank Details
Upload the required bank details and cancelled cheque for subsidy disbursement into the eligible applicant’s account.
